    restoration progress

Took this pic yesterday. Quarter is getting cut off along with wheelhouses. The new full quarter panels from dynacorn are excellent fitting pieces from what my body man is telling me. Will have pics of the new quarter and wheelhouses soon.

I did know that Danacorn sold individual Panels, that great. Your project is looking good, comming along nicely. Just one dumb question for you. I noticed that you did not remove the battery Tray for Sandblasting.......how come?

    Thanks!
The bolts holding the tray were rounded off. Needed to be cut off. Totally forgot about it by then it was to late and the schedule day for the blasting came up. No biggie, I wanted to save the original battery tray so it got sandblasted for me as a result.

The full quarter panel came from Laurel Mountain Mustang. The sticker on the inside of the panel said "Mfg. Dynacor USA".

Is Dynacore the same company as Dynacorn. All of the recent Mustang Magazines have been showing the Mustang Bodies by Dynacorn.

Let us know how that quarter panel fits, I have heard good things about Dynacorn sheet metal.

Thank you, the little car next to it I believe is an Aston Martin Convert. (If I spelled that correctly:unsure:) My long time friend Gary and Professional Body Man is doing the heavy sheetmetal work for me. In regards to the Dynacorn sheetmetal, Gary said "Awesome Fit". The full quarters fit perfectly. Laser straight perfect fit from door to quarter extensions. Thats very rare for a aftermarket piece.

Well i'm so glad I have a best friend who is also a professional body man. He is doing an incredible job on my Shelby. We kind of figured the car was going to need two new rear quarters. So, I bought two new full quarters just in case. When Gary began work on the driver side, it was confirmed it was going to need full quarter. The previous body man that worked on the car in the 80's did a TERRIBLE patch job! So, off it all came. DYNACORN full quarters fit perfect again. Gary was brilliant in the way he hung the quarter. He worked the quarter in on both sides in a way that he was able to retain the factory LEAD welds on the roof line. GO GARY!

Progress is moving along big time now. All the metal work is done. Panels have been fit and finished. Car is primed. 340 dry sand took place followed by 600 wet sand. Very few low spots to repair. Laser straight. Next step disassemble, red oxide then LIME GOLD..YIPEE!!!

Nice work! How did you fix your front frame rails? Did you replace them or pull them out? Trying to think ahead on mine, which have seen their share of speedbumps and floor jacks.

    Thanks Randall!

Thank you! I pulled the one and replaced the other. It was to far smashed.
