Friday, April 7th at 7:30am EDT, Speed TV is replaying the Dream Car Garage episode that was filmed at McMichael Motorsports shop in Braselton GA, the southeast region Superformance dealer. Tom Hnatiw was here for a couple days filming at the Grand Opening last Fall held in conjunction with the ALMS Petit LeMans race. The episode was first shown last weekend, reports are it's pretty cool, filmed around the shop and then on a mountain cruise in North Georgia. If anyone is heading this way for the ALMS race this weekend, Year One's first cruise of 2005 the weekend of the 23rd, or the Mitty vintage races the weekend of the 30th, please stop in, the shop is located directly across the street from the ticket booth at Road Atlanta.

I dont know if superformance are allowed to be sold in Canada any more. In the episode, do they show the shoehorn used to fit Tom into the Cobra? Sorry I coudnt resist. LOL. The last time I tried to contact superformance Canada, they didnt reply. I heard the Govt shut them down, the car didnt pass safety regs.

Superformance is pretty much gone, here in Canada. They have been fighting with Transport Canada for some time now. I know the dealership here in Toronto, went bankrupt and closed up shop about a year ago, after a long and expensive court battle with Transport Canada. They won the court battle, but Transport Canada just ignored the ruling and would not allow any Cobras into the country. There was an appeal that Superformance won, too, about 2 months ago, but I haven't heard if they are planning on opening up shop again. :grrr:
