1966 gt350...oil change, how many qrts?

    oil change time. i've heard 6, 6 1/2 and 7 quarts to refill. which is the correct amount?

    I just refill to the top mark on the dipstick. I know that's more than 6 qt. I always end up with a partial qt. left over. So the amount needed, by my measurements, is a not a whole number. Not a very helpful answer I know.

    I think part of the problem is the capacity of the 65-66 Cobra T-pan is listed differently in different sources: 6.5, 7.5, etc. This was discussed a couple of times in old issues of 'The Shelby American'.

    I agree with Z.Ray, I fill mine to the FULL mark on the dipstick which in my car is exactly 6 quarts including the filter.
