    what spark plugs are recommened and what is the gap?

    The original recommended plug for 66 HiPo 289 including GT350 is Autolite BF-32, gap specs are .028-.032.

    one note, the BF-32's are no longer made new. NOS BF-32's are readily available on ebay, etc. (I even have some extras for sale).

    The current Autolite equivalent is the Autolite 45.

    I still run BF-32s in my car but know some people prefer to use BF-42, or equivalent, since it is one step hotter and for them is less prone to fouling.

    I think the Autolite 45 is the current replacement for both the BF-32 and BF-42, I suspect the heat range is more like the BF-42.

    sorry, no. let me know if you ever run across some. A box of the non-star type sold on ebay in May for $265.00 crazy, an anomaly I think. Normally they are much less.

    Tried to change plugs today, however, my socket would not slide past the header flang on two plugs(rt front and lt rear). do i need to find a thin walled spark plug socket? tips?

    I have a couple of single BF-32 plugs like the ones in that auction, I'm still trying to figure out how they fit in datewise. They are in the 'Star' box, but do not have a star on the plug. They also do not have 'Powertip' on the plug like the more common style. I believe this is a rare transition plug which may explain the high price.
