Hello -- just joined today. I have participated in a number of other Mustang forums but I sold my 2006 Mustang GT and ordered a 2009 GT500. I learned a lot on the other forums and I am looking forward to doing the same here. Don Allegro Davenport, Iowa
Thanks. As indicated in my signature, the new car will be alloy with stripe delete. Also charcoal/red interior, HIDs, premium trim, car cover. I did not get navigation. I feel I wasted some money with the GT in terms of adding aftermarket parts so hopefully will be more cost efficient this time. I have on order a Colgan bra, FRPP SGT stingers, and FRPP shifter handle with white ball. I plan to order a license plate bracket so I don't have to drill holes in the bumper. That is all I plan initially. I had put a Roush handling kit and Watts link on my Mustang GT but I am going to drive the Shelby before I decide whether to make any suspension changes. The Shelbys look about 1/2 inch lower than the stock Mustang GTs. Is that about right? If so, I may stick with the stock springs and struts. I really liked that Watts link -- it changed the whole character of the Mustang GT -- so that is something I still may add. I had ordered the Saleen kit from JDM and installed it myself, so at least I should be able to install it a second time without as much aggravation and as many bruised knuckles. I also want to drive the Shelby before I decide on any power changes. The Roush/FRPP supercharger sounds great but not if I only get a one-year warranty. I thought I heard something about a 3-year warranty if the dealer installed the supercharger upgrade at the point of delivery. Is that right or am I confusing that with the handling pack upgrade? Thanks again for the welcome and I am looking forward to learning about a new car.
That is correct 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch lower. The front Bumper Cover with the Splitter is lower to so be careful when pulling into Parking lots and up to Curb Stops. David.
