i bought a 65 gt 350 export brace (evenly spaced holes) from mustang unlimited but the export brace mounting plate holes do not line up with the goles on the export brace.

Since the reproductions are normally made as copies of the 67-up style of export braces I would not expect them to line up where the equal spaced 65-66 ones.

So you have to redrill your firewall brace or find an original (not sure if anyone is reproducing the early version - though you could check with Jim Cowles)

Even with everything perfect you often have to wrestle these things into place.

Sorry - not likely what you were hoping for

Do you mean the bracket that is welded to the firewall top???
What do you mean with "do not line up"?

The problem i had was following:
Original export brace from 66 T5 even spaced and a aftermarket
support bracket. The holes in the bracket where too far to the back
about 1/4". And the bracket itself was too short.

I had to make a new one.
    Here are some pictures.
