'66 Hertz color cars, any 4 speeds?

Well, if you would check the trusty 1997 Shelby American World Registry
( you do have one, don't you? ) you would find 3 white cars and 1 red one in the listing of Hertz 4-speed cars.

 

And it appears that the red one (6S1005) is for sale on ebay right now.

 

Not quite. 6S1005 is a red Hertz car. However, it is NOT the Hertz 4-speed
car. That honor goes to 6S533.

 

Is there a typo in the '97 Registry? 1005 is listed as a 4 speed.

 

It is not listed as a 4 speed in the supplemental page 593.

That's true. I was going by page 457 and assumed that if the trans type (or other element) were filled in that info was known.

 

Pick up the Shelby American # 75, turn to page 25. There you will find the definitive list of 4-speed Hertz cars. 6S533 is a red car. 6S454, 6S470, and
6S571 are white cars. All others are black.

Some strange mix of upholstery in that back seat! Closed letter valve covers that have been stripped of black paint to make them kinda look like open letter ones.
