So........ Hello to everyone from Western Canada (Vancouver Island). I'm new to this forum and would like to say hi to all the Shelby lovers everywhere. I've been a car nut since age 2 and nothing has changed much. Have had an eclectic collection of stuff and went through an English phase (MGs, Healeys, Jags, etc) through an Italian phase (Fiats, Alfas, Ferraris, etc) and always stayed with proven North American Muscle (Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Mopar) and have owned, raced, collected, shown, fixed, and enjoyed all of them. My 66 Shelby has been with me for 15 years and was recently reunited with its original engine which was removed and lost in the 70s. That, in itself, is quite a story - might get told here eventually. At any rate, met Mr. Shelby on more than one occasion, paid for his signature on more than one part and lit piece, and have run cars on several race tracks in Canada and the USA (Mosport, St. Eugene, Mt. Tremblant, Watkins Glen, Pacific Raceways, Laguna Seca, Mission, and Mid Ohio. I look forward to meeting you on this forum and will be looking into many of the threads for items of interest. Thanks for listening Take care Canuck man
Welcome, I can't wait to hear the story about how your 66's engine found its way home! Meanwhile lets see some pictures of that 66!
Thanks for the welcome 2100 - always a pleasure to meet new people. Hopefully there's now an avatar of my car on each post so that you can at least see her in the flesh....er...metal. That particular photo is in front of a hanger filled with vintage aircraft which the local Provincial (state) insurance company (which we all must have our basic insurance through) used as a photo shoot for the annual calendar which is given out for free through all the Autoplan (auto insurance) outlets in the province. By the way - she was Ms. February, 2006. take care Canuck 66
