if you order a 2009 gt500 do you have to get sat radio and if so what can be done to get rid of the ugly antenna.
stop your whining and accept the antenna.... welcome to the fold, time to enjoy a classic musclecar bud.
I thought this was the place to ask questions. I would have expected an answer like that from those corvette guys. Your lucky your my friend. If anyone else has any info that would be great.. Anyway, with or without the (bump on the trunk) I know I gonna love this thing.
Has anyone tried locating the satellite antenna inside the car? It seems to me it would still get a clear view of the sky if it was inside under the rear window. It wouldn't be much more intrusive than the tether anchor points. robin
Luckily its not as ugly as the"stinger" my '08 Super-Bee sports;07 had the lump,it was a lot less notiable Steele
According to a 2009 GT500 order form dated 3/18/08, the Sirius Satellite option is standard on both the coupe and convertible. I don't know whether that has changed since then or not.
I would tell you to ask the dealer but they would lie through their teeth to make the sale. I know I didn't like the bump on mine and almost didn't but it because of it. I agree with Robin, maybe you can order it without the antenna mounted and do it yourself, but refer to my first comment......
Find a Used Deck Lid the same color as your Car, have the Stripes installed and switch them. Then you can move the Antenna to where you want it. A couple of Friends have their Antenna's mounted on the Rear Shelf and it works great for them and yes, they both have Aftermarket Tinted Windows. If you get a Used Deck Lid with a factory Rear Spoiler, the Shelby Rear Spoiler will bolt right on.
