Hi, one and all, I'm a new member from the UK and am interested in obtaining a big ol Mustang muscle car. I have had several high performance japanese sports cars and own three at this moment, but have had an interest in one of these beasts since I first watched Bullet many years ago. Am in the motor industry over here but dont know the first place to look for a good fast back model? Any advice gladly received.

    Randall,
I'd swear that's the same car some guy on the VMF forums says that he bought just recently. Anyone shed light?

I don't know anything about it other than what is posted on eBay. The ad was placed here by bullit. Maybe he could give some detail?

    Mike -

There are plenty of good Mustangs, and a few quite a few Shelbys and bosses here in the UK if you seek them out. A good place to start would be to join the Mustang Owners' Club of Great Britain (www.mocgb.net) or pick up one of the UK American Car magazines (American Car World, Classic American etc).

There is quite a high percentage of 'rare' muscle cars here since if someone is going to all the trouble of shipping a car across the Atlantic, it might as well be a good one!

However, be careful of poor quality 'restorations', rust, mis-represented cars (ie low-spec cars masquerading as 'boss' or 'shelby' simply by having the word 'boss' or 'shelby' written on them!). I once drove from North London to Dover only to find a "...mint condition '70 Boss 302..." was in fact a very tatty 70 Mach 1 with painted-on Boss 302 graphics!

My strongest advice would be to do plenty of research on what type of car you are looking for, and learn how to differentiate between a good one and a shiney wreck!

    Happy hunting!
