I am currently doing a 68 kr and dont want to wait to have orig upper control arms rebuilt. The question is who has the best looking repro 4 rivet control arms? I seem to remember a few years ago i purchased some and had to grind out on the end to prevent the wheel from rubbing on another car i did. Would hope there is something better now. Any help appreciated!!

I'm still restoring originals because there isn't a decent repro.

Not sure about the tire rubbing - could be other issues. As for reproduction uppers you might try Rare Parts in Stockton Ca. They are working on some reproductions - might be worth a try since you don't "want to wait"

The Rare Parts version is good. The rivet heads are rounded and they come painted black, I heard they are massaging the part. VA Mustang sells them as USA made reproductions.

Think we're talking about two different things. Yes they make some reproductions for the retail market but they also are working (or are finished) on another "level" of reproductions. These have the waffle patterned rivets, the uppers are powder coated a natural color.

Still could used to work on the lowers last time I saw them to get the multiple tons of the bare metal like the lower retainers which were originally heat treated and there fore darker.

Here is a shot of some they did on an original A arm for me about a year ago

Thanks - that is not the one I was referring to. It was a new version/style that I had recently seen. The ones in your picture are different from the ones I saw

They are located locally so I stop by from time to time to see what they are working on. Last month they were finishing the upper and lowers as well as the spring perches. In addition they were working on tie rod ends.

I didn't take pictures unfortunately Guess I should stop by and snap a couple ;)

I knew this wasn't the one you referred to. I thought I'd show what their replacement 4 rivet arm looked like. It's a nice sturdy piece.
