I recently saw a picture that was taken in 1966 of a '66 GT350H, Green, with no lemans stripes. I always thought that all the GT350H's had lemans stripes, I've never seen one without. It was rented in Southern California. I found it kinda interesting.
Might be nice to share that photo here or on this link http://www.shelbyforums.com/forums/1965-1970-shelby-mustang-gt350-gt500/9184-back-when-they-were-just-cars.html
Here is a link to a 66 that claims to be an original green car with no lemans stripes. http://www.autabuy.com/Vehicles/Details.cfm?VID=241388
A friend of mine owns 6S551, a black original 4-speed car Hertz that also originally came without LeMans stripes. I also know a guy with a black survivor Hertz car, all original paint and stripes, but doesn't have the "H" on the side stripes, just GT 350. Don't recall the VIN but it's somewhere in the 1200-1500 range.
I thought the Lemans stripes were a dealer thing. Not all of them received the Lemans stripes.? Seems like a reasonable price, but I am not sure why you would undertake a full restoration on a car like that, and not go back with the original color.
hello everyone I am just about ready to paint my 66 shelby. What is the best way to lay out ( tape off) the Lemans stripes? Also what is the paint mix for the gold. Thanks Bruce
