US $210,100.00 (Reserve not met) and 21 hours to go.

    Pretty high reserve?

The reserve must be $250,000. It's such a nice....

round number and...it does equate to one quarter of a million dollars.

I have looked over this car very close but that was in 1989 the car looks identical in the pictures other than the wheels it had Torque Thrust back then installed by the dealer I believe .The steering wheel was also installed by the dealer because the original owner didn't care for the 68 wheel being a X 68 shelby owner that makes perfect sence to me. I believe the owner had the documentation to back up that steering wheel and wheels- Ithink It was on the original invoice but thats going back a while .The car had magazine coverage but I can't remember what magazine I think M.M but I while try to find that.

Did this car sell? I looked at while it was listed but wasn't able to find it for the final bid price and to see if the reserve was met?

See rshelby's comments above of 6/6/05.

Evidently it went over $200,000 but did not meet the reserve.

Bish, I wonder if this Shelby owner thinks that....

the market has changed dramatically in a few weeks. This is bizarre. What don't I understand about this sales approach? Help me, please.

My thought is the seller hopes to catch a person who will be sorry they let it go the first time and will "step up to the window and write the check"

But it did not go the first time. It went up to....

$210,000 and topped out. No one was willing to pay above $210,000. The car is still available. Do you think that the seller believes that a couple of weeks later that they will bid the car over a reserve that they didn't meet two weeks ago? I guess it could happen but I doubt it. If anything I think the highest offer could be lower but I've been wrong more than I've been right on eBay.

I tend to agree with you....most of the previous bidders will probably say it isn't worth getting your feet wet since the reserve wasn't met and no one was willing to push it higher.

If this guy was really wanted top dollar he would be at one of the major auctions, with ebay, you as a seller don't know for sure if the buyer is serious and has the cash and as a potential buyer you don't know if a friend of the seller is putting in bids. I for one would stay clear of all ebay car sales.

Well, I seem to remember a year or 2 ago on the auction page of the super snake. It started out at 200,000 & went nowhere. Then I was at an open house, & it was said that it was sold for more than that ,so you really don't know about these things once the auction is over. unless it's on the 3rd or forth time around. But that pony is of a diff. breed anyway.---S.
