I use Orr-Lac brand paint and it is Semi-Gloss Black. Not sure if it is factory correct but I like it and that's all that matters as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the compliments.

 

These are the only pics I can find of the car before. These were taken like 20 years ago, before I knew how to take "good" photos.

 

I've had a request for photos of the rear quarter window area so here they are......This area takes alot of work to get them as clean as this. Just cut the vent supports out and fold the tabs down an grind them as smooth as you can.

 

Finally got the rear package tray done and installed. Im going to cover the flat area with carpet. I know its not correct but this is my car and I am building it my way. Besides I think it will look better that way. Also got the plexiglass windows installed. These are the ones from Branda and are a B*tch to put together and get in there but once theyre in the look fantastic.

Okay......Sorry guys. I've been really busy lately. My dad bought a bunch of mountain property and we've been tied up working there. Here are the latest photos and developments...........I finally found the right rear end for the car. It's amazing what patience and persistence along with a whopping $50 bucks will get you at a swap meet.

 

At the moment it is just laying in place. I really haven’t decided how I’m going to mount it. I don’t want to put any screws into the original fastback panels so I am going to have to think about how to fasten it. It does however sit very securely on top of the interior panels and flat area rests onto the interior floor. I will also be adding a tire mount for my spare tire and that will also help hold the whole panel in place. I am thinking about covering the panel with some carpet, I know it didnt come that way but for a replica I think it would actually be an improvement.

 

I'll try to come up with something and let you guys know. I kind of wanted to carpet it so that it might keep it from rattling so bad. But in the event that it does rattle it wont really bother me too much, this car will be pretty loud anyway with side exhaust plus I wont have a radio to listen to.

I will be taking it to the upholstery shop tomorrow for the headliner install. Hopefully I'll get it back by the weekend. Then I will put on the stripes. They will be the 66 3M tape stripes. I actually have a NOS set.
