Anyone having (or has had) issues with their original Cobra Hi-Rise intake having cracks or porosity resulting in oil being pulled into the intake runners?

I have oil inside the intake. I first though it was all coming thru the PCV plumbing, but now am leaning toward the idea that the intake has cracks or porosity allowing the oil to pass thru it.

    Anyone run into this one?

What about the possibilty of the intake gasket leaking? Just a thought, I always like to start with the simple things first.

I replaced the intake gaskets, but the old ones didn't appear to have been leaking.

Yes,..I pulled the spark plugs to see if it was isolated. Found out it was a small hole from the underside of the intake leaking into one of the center ports.

yes, I bought a small block intake through Ford parts back in the early 70s. It leaked. Changed gaskets, still leaked. My Dad came along and examined the intake in the sunlite and found a crack just under the carb in the plenum.

that's where I think mine has a crack. I can see one under the carb area, but don't know if it's superficial, or goes all the way through the casting. I'm going to thoroughly investigate the other "easy" fixes ( over oiling via the pvc plumbing) before I take the intake off again.

sorry I cant help with the repair. Back then, I just returned it for another. Perhaps some JB weld? I also recall the intake would push out the front cork gasket. This was solved with silicone gaket maker. The intakes were buddy bar castings with Ford script , not Cobra. I also had a 351 alum intake on another car and recall that it fit much better.
