New guy here.... 1969 GT350 (hertz) 2057 in the registry. I'd like to put together as much history as possible on the car.. I've had it about 7 years now..Bought it from Jerry McCough (sp?) from Arkansas. He got it at a Kruse auction in Tulsa so the history stops there. There's a 10 year gap in history from 1990 until about 2000. Car was restored when I got it and it still looks as good as it did 7 years ago... Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Oh yeah and I need a carb for it. It currently has a aftermarket Holley that need replaced, I'd like to get an original for it but for now I'm thinking about a 600 cfm Eddy so I can drive it around..... Comments, recommendations... Thanks!!!!
Here are a few photo's... http://photobucket.com/69Hertzrentaracer 69 Hertz rental car, competition orange. The car was restored when I bought it 7 years ago. I'm now the cartaker and steward of it. It does need the correct carb for it.. $700 from Pony carbs is why the old holley is still on it.. The other car is a 1970 340 Duster.. http://photobucket.com/duster Yes I like all of the US "BIG THREE" cars of that era... The Duster is a driver and a 4 speed.. I really like to "flog" on it. I went through the drive train 2 years ago The Shelby is just to nice for a driver.. It goes out on an occasional cruise, shows etc. 1 problem is the rear tail lamps... I've came close 6 times in the last 7 years getting rear ended.. I replaced the sequential box but need to go to LED lighting.. Can the 1157 bulds be swapped with LED replacements??? I'd like to add a 69 Z28 and or a boss 302 to the "toy box".. But, working in the Detroit auto supplier business I gotta hang tight to see what happens.. I'm a member of the boss 302 exchange and FABO (for a bodies only). Both good places to learn and share resources...
