1969 sequential tail lamps (save my car)

Looking for some help... I'm afraid to drive my car as I've had numerous mishaps... The last time was a F250 lifted about 2 feet, it was a near miss at 50 mph while I was a dead stop with my turn signal on... It would have been "real ugly". He jerked the wheel at the last moment and took the berm route as I braced for impact..
I replaced the sequential turn box and flasher which helped but the lights are still to dim..
Can the standard 1157 bulds be replaced with halogen or LED bulbs????

I am using the mustangproject.com LED lights on my 67 Shelby.
I like the fact that they are much brighter and less of a load on the
electrical system. I know 67's didn't have sequential but I like the look
and it is very easy to put back to stock when I want.

Most all problems with 69/70 Shelby dim taillights end up being because of a poor ground and or loose or corroded plug connectors. The poor ground limits the voltage going to the bulbs which results in a dim light.the corroded or loose conectors does the same thing. This is a common thing on a 40 year old car. Bob

Guy's ,Thanks for the input.... Bob I'll check the "ground" as you suggested. As things go it's quite often the simple, basic items like a good ground..
