Does anyone have a recommendation for a short throw shifter for a 07 shellby 500? i know ford racing makes one for $200 and steeda makes one for $350. ANY SUGGESTIONS? MY STOCK SHIFTER IS NOT SMOOTH !
I have the Ford Racing one and like it a lot. Its the same one they are putting in the new KRs. Big difference over the cra**y stock one.
I was leaning towards that one too, however the one made by steeda is 150 bucks more than ford racing. so was wandering if you get what you pay for, But your right, the stock shifter is CRAP !
I know a lot of people have the Steeda and are happy with it but most bought it before the FRRP version was available.
Has anyone tried the Shelby short throw shifter or does anyone know how it compares to the Ford Racing shifter?
I have the Shelby short throw shifter and it works fine now. It was a little tight when I first took it to the track. But after many runs, it works fine.
I have the Hurst short throw in my SGT and I am not happy with it! I have missed more shifts with it than I did with my old "3 on the tree" in my '63 Fairlane!
A couple of you ask if I was taking about the KR shifter, which I believe is just a FRRP shifter with a different shifter ball. Shelby offers their own, although I am reading pretty mixed reviews about it. Here is the item: http://www.shelbyperformanceparts.com/ShowItem/101096 Shelby Shifter 6-Speed.aspx
Love my FRPP shifter and with the money saved I got myself a Grabber-Pony shifter ball. The factory unit is just JUNK for this type of car. But it's not real easy to install. Once you get it done though you'll be Very Happy Your Did It!
go with the shelby short throw shift kit with que ball shifter. not only does it look great, but its performance is immeasureable. that what i had installed at the mod shop in texas on my shelby 500.
I bought the Shelby shifter, lever and Q-ball. Works smooth and looks good.I would recommend this to anyone that wants the best.
