I know this is not the place to post cars wanted, but needed to get my first post in and this looked like a good place. I have posted in the wanted section but it is listed as unregistered.
Have a really nice clone, but it's just not the same as the real thing. Looking for a 65/66 GT350 project, will consider all and will pay for leads. No car too bad.

Good luck finding your car. As for the Classified ad showing up as unregistered, you just need to be logged in to the classified system to ensure your username is tagged to the ad. There is a separate login on the upper right. You can resubmit another ad after loggin in if you like. I hope you find what you're looking for!

Probably will have better luck finding a project '66 than '65 but I don't think these type of cars exist. The 500 or so holders of real '65's know what they have.

If you get a lead hit the bid it won't be there for very long.

I actually found a 65 GT350 listed for Sale that had sat for 20 some years. Complete car right down to the Cragars. The Guy had received so many calls, (and information on it's value) that he quickly took it off the market! we had good conversation about the Car and the times he had with it back in the day. when I tried to call him months later, his message on his answer machine was like this...." Hi, The Shelby is Not For Sale......." they are out there and No they are not all accounted for! I also ran into a guy who just got a 65 last year that needs to be done over and he got it atr about 25% of the Cars value!! Do not give up hope. But it certainly is not getting easier!!

    dd,
I agree that one should never give up on your dream car but I believe the situation you describe is the exception not the rule.

I was fortunate enough to find a '65 in 1999 after a couple years looking and I ended up having to buy a '67 390 hp 427 vette from him as well!

Vette is long gone still got the Shelby!

The one thing I have noticed is that "Trends" in the Shelby Mustang Market do seem to occur. or at least they used to. different Year Cars become hotter than others. Now, They are all Just on FIRE!

    FYI...

1965 Shelby GT 350 R coming on the market for sale. Look in Club Cobra open forum (www.clubcobra.com) under thread "1965 GT 350 Road Race Car for sale". Goes for at least $100K as per the thread interesting commentary by various folks on their views on the availability and value of these '65 cars.

A little clarification, it's not an R model. It is a street model set-up as an R. Big difference

I apologize ... you are right ... either way a very valuable car and a difficult car to find even with a big check book!

No problem. I was just about to put the For Sale sign outside my house until I saw it was a street car! :cigar:
