Hi there, Wanted to say hello. I have a 1967 GT500 converted to an Eleanor on the way from Lima, Peru via a very slow boat.... Anyway, this is my first classic / muscle car as I have always been a Porsche/Ferrari/BMW guy...however, I have never been more excited about a car! The car was built for me in Lima, there isn't a single piece of fibreglass on the body, all hand turned steel. So, I am here to learn about the car, I will be finishing it up here, I need to change the wheels, gas cap, upgrade steering, suspension etc.. Will upload pics shortly Cheers! Scott
WOW...... I think everyone here is going to want to learn more about the Car. Do you have any Photos that you can share? Oh, WELCOME to the Site. David.
Thanks! Yes, I have posted the orig bill of sale and some resto photos and pics of car on way to boat as well as the magazine article in Lima to my gallery under carbon_00. Looking forward to learning more about this car and the series as this is my first American car / muscle car. I have been collecting/racing Porsche/Ferrari/BMW for years. My father always wanted one of these cars when I was a boy, so its fun for me. Cheers Scott
It was a GT 500, the VIN is 7AT07GY22162. The body , hood etc is all metal, sorry for the confusion. Can't wait to drive it and tinker with it. It will be the only car I own that I can actually work on without a Phd in computer science and specialty tools. I will post some more photos of the build in my gallery as i cannot seem to upload to this message Cheers
Okay, I have posted a tonne of shots on the restoration and conversion to Eleanor on my photo website. I didn' take the photos, so I apologize in advance about their quality. Here is the link; http://scottwalters.zenfolio.com/p323501040 The password is "eleanor" (no quotation marks needed) Cheers Scott
