I know this is a shelby spot..and ours is in the shop now going through restoration...but I have a question for my 65 2+2..decided to put it back on the road..having problems figuring out what going to work on my car as far as rim and tire goes..

I have some 600lbs rated front springs that lowered it from stock height and the rear leafs are a reverse eye set up that also lowers the car..I used to run 14 inch torque thrust D's with some dunlop gt qualifers that were a 245 50 R14
but I cant find anyone selling those tire sizes anymore online...I would like to stay with the 14 inch rim and a 245 tire as its the widest I can go without rubbing..I used to run 265s in the back and they were always getting shreded with every bump in the road..anyhow not sure how a 15 inch rim would sit and the appropriate tire for it...any ideas or help would be appreciated..

hey Jimmy - ive got 225/50/15's on mine and it feels just right. When i bought it , it had 235/40/17's and rubbed on most tight corners...
(and the guards have been lipped)
hope this helps. (ive tried attaching pics for you but the system won't let me - i had this trouble a little while ago but Randall sorted it.......might be the same problem Randall ?)
    cheers.

Thanks so much for that input..I realy want to go with a 245 tire as I like the look and they realy give a great feel for the road..I did find some radial T/A's that are a 245 60 S14 but not sure if they will rub as the tire height is a big taller than the 50 series..and again I think my main concern is front tires right..as the rears dont matter if its a 50 or 60 series as they just go up and down versus turning radius on the fronts??? Never ran a 225 so I realy dont know how it looks or handles...pushing a bit over 400 ponies so I want a little more meat in the back

nice look on the Cougar, but a '65 is lacking the space you have

good point.. well as I said I ran a 245 50 14 in the past so I am thinking a 245 60 14 wont give me any problems...how about rims...what is going to be the deal with a 14x6 vs a 14x7 rim?? I dont remember which rim I had on my car before with said tires.. I put the same said tires on our shelby on our original 10 spokes and they sit perfect like mine did on my fastback..what are the original 10 spokes..14x6 or 14x7..
