    Hi there,

Wanted to say hello. I have a 1967 GT500 converted to an Eleanor on the way from Lima, Peru via a very slow boat....

Anyway, this is my first classic / muscle car as I have always been a Porsche/Ferrari/BMW guy...however, I have never been more excited about a car!

The car was built for me in Lima, there isn't a single piece of fibreglass on the body, all hand turned steel.

So, I am here to learn about the car, I will be finishing it up here, I need to change the wheels, gas cap, upgrade steering, suspension etc..

Here are some pics, including a magazine article done on the car in Lima....can anyone help me with decoding the VIN? I would like to know where it was built originally.

    Thanks!

    Scott

I'm with Jim here...... (and plenty of other readers too prob) - what confirms this to make you think it's a genuine Shelby GT500 - Ive looked at all your pics and the orig documents and no where does it say Shelby GT500......? Do you have some other paperwork - if you do would be great to see. cheers.

    Hi Shelby,

I think I am a source of confusion, it is NOT a GT500 orig car, that was discovered right after I started posting and getting some helpful feedback..its a fastback. I actually posted a mea culpa a few days ago and changed my signature file...Nonetheless, as my first foray into American classic cars I am very excited to have it in my garage shortly.

    Cheers
