Interesting how the man only uses the left part of the shoulder strap. I've always thought that in a crash, you would break your shoulders. That's why race harnesses buckle at a common point at the waist. The crash loads are absorbed by the torso, not the shoulders. Even today's seat belts allow for the crash loads to be taken up by the body.

Well, in the last ten seconds of the commercial you can see there is no grill eblem, and I swear, seems to be a scoop light in the upper scoop. It's a Gt 500, lime green. How many of those built between #0050 and let's say 200?

I agree Roddster. The second car ;I did a second enhancement of the magnifiaction of the scoop area, I couldn,t detect a light in that scoop area. It's probably a slim chance of I.D.ing it. Do you think with the help of the Forum we could possibly I.D. this car for #2100. So starting in the registry We need to find how many cars have (LIMEGREEN) and (MAGSTAR'S) between # 50 & 200? B)B) Snakeman "ssssssss"you later

Are you guys sure it's a GT500?From the side,it seems like GT350 to me.
Wish it were mine, though :) Would at least confirm the upper scoop lights....

This is fun to watch and a few clues to id cars may be by looking in the magazine with the lime gold car in front of a DC 3 that was part of the fleet that Shelby owned.I think we determined it was a mock up car made to look the part...but was never given a Shelby vin.The first few real G.T. 500 cars were in the 165 & up vin range.and they were lime gold. And car # 0050 is a white G.T. 350 that was used for pr work-magazines-photos etc.Have not been able to prove it but all evidence has it appearing as the SCG car.The recent SAAC article on a pilot plant car made to look like a G.T. 500 lets us know that there were a few cars dressed up but not given Shelby vins.and it makes sense to use them for advertising.
    Regards P.D.

Cobreen Yes Sir it is definitely a GT500 I watched the movie again the 5 is a little distorted, but watch the Movie again and concentrate looking at the 2 zero's and confirm for yourself it's a GT500

Freddy your car is #187 it is Lime-Green. It is a possible candidate, also looking as closely as I can from your pictures in your Avatar I can not see a grille emblem ,your car in your pictures has 10 spokes ,but, I see it came with Magstars, It also has the light in the scoop. I now have to ask you is this your car in the movie?

No it is not my car. When I bought it,it had the grille emblem-are considering to remove it now. Also, the upper scoop lights I have are not correct-also believe my car is too late built to have them.Guess the one used are very early?

Mr Cobreen I don't mean to mislead you with the present posting .We were looking for presumably to start with, cars with last numbers ending 50-200, with a quick assessment , that was narrowed down to cars 165-200 which would narrow that search to only 35 cars minus the 20 cars that no owners are listed for and no possibility of contact with, that would leave only 15 cars, your car is early enough to have the lights in the scoop I would not remove anything off of your Shelby. I just had to ask you was this your car . Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the Pictures; Shelby gt350#3000 HMMM?? Patty Diablo said this might be fun. Is it not funny ? I looked back from the beginning of this movie it is blurred throughout, the first car Mr. Shelby sets in you can't read anything about the stripes or decal above the stripes, and you can plainly see no side marker lights. The same thing with the second car the young lady is sitting in,no possibility of I.D. as a 350 or 500 & no marker light, but now we have some close up shots of marker light and now we look at the stripes & and decal :blush:That close a picture and yet you can't read any part of that decal even the snake is hardly recognizable. So I went to my garage and measured 10 & 12ft away from my 67 350 very clear to read decal how much clearer should the larger stripes be to see. For fun as Patty -Diablo said ; lets pause the 500 search In the 97 registry a Lime GT350 starts a known owner at #103 please correct me if I'm wrong.

If you make the video full screen and freeze it at the 25 second mark the lime gold car is clearly a GT350. I never could make out the other one.

I found another copy of the same commercial. It is a little more clear. Go frame by frame in the large screen setting and at the 57 second mark you can clearly see a marker light on the upper scoop and chrome trim around exhaust cut outs of the lime gold car.
