Does anyone have any info on this car. I emailed the registry but no answer yet. Thought I'd put it out there here.
Other than what is in the Registry, what information do you need on the car? Were you by chance the first owner of CSX3233?
I've never owned a Cobra. I'm looking at a car supposedly 3233 but I've not been able to substantiate it. Car is supposedly a 66 comp car that was wrecked and retired to salvage. Then bought and restored/rebuilt with original side oiler, bright work, and I forgotten the rest. Not being offered for sale as original but higher than you'd expect. I've not gone further because I want to know if its really been salvaged. It cannot be the same car but he has the tag.
CSX3233 was not a comp car. It is a street 428. Registry shows it is still with an owner that has had the car since the mid '70's Always remember the only difference between a fairy tale and an old car story is; A fairy tale starts out "Once upon a time" and old car story starts out "Once upon a time, no sh*t.."
Actually the car was last known to be in the Phillipines owned by a man I think named Torres. It has been lost since the 80s. I have a picture of the plaque and the car is supposedly in Canada. Where did you get your information on CSX3233? Can you give me a link?
Ned gave me the info I posted. We think that the car offered has either the plaque or most likely a pic of the plaque. It is certainly possible for it to be on the up and up so I'm not accusing anyone of a scam. But it seems unlikely that CSX3233 has been rebuilt. I will ask Ned about the registry of it being a 428 which I wouldn't doubt. I'm just getting two actually three stories and I'm tending to believe Ned and you as being closer to the truth. I just need more data and will try to balance skepticism and fairness until this sorts itself out if that is possible. I'd hate to overlook a real find just because I'm skeptical and paranoid and closed minded. Chances are high we all will be disappointed in still not knowing what the fate of 3233 really is. I'll talk with Ned again and try to find the 08 registry information. Please realize I'm new to the world of Shelby for a url would be helpful to me. Thanks again to all.
If you post a few simple pictures of the car: underhood and firewall, inside trunk and a clear shot of the front suspension... ...we probably can save you a whole lot of speculation. Oh, BTW.... trust Ned.
I'm not certain this car even exists although I have some pics. I haven't heard back from Ned. I'll get back in touch with him first then post back.
Hi Just wondered if any more news surfaced? If it is real or another scam? It would be nice to see a discovery turn out nice for a change. Regards P.D.
Hi. I've given up on it. that car is not supposed to be on this side of the world. I can't say whether its a scam or not but its not worth my time and effort if that helps. Too bad. I never did find out if the car was a competition car or not. If anyone has any information on the car I'd love to know about it. Best
Well thats crazy.......Someone could have bought it, shipped it over and never up dated the Registry. I have known a few people who have owned Shelby's for several Years and never updated the Registry. A Friend of mine just traded in a 2007 Shelby GT 500 and never sent in his Information to the Shelby Registry. It is worth checking out and seeing if you could see it in person.
A-Snake gave you the answer on 5/14.. The nature of the serial number on the car in question rules it out as a Comp car; 427 Comps were numbered in the CSX30xx range.
