Does anyone know if a BF Goddrich Traction T/A 205/70-14 will for a stock 1966 shelby with Magnums without rubbing or modifying the wheel whells>
What stock appearing tire fits? Looking for reasonbly priced tire, can't afford the Speedway GT350 tires at $360 each

The BF Goodrich Traction T/A is a really good tire. Maybe the best affordable 14" tire available with a decent sized side-wall. Definitely heads & shoulders better than the BF Goodrich Radial T/A. I ran the BF Goodrich Traction T/A in the 195/70-14 size on my '66 GT-350 for many years. I don't think the 205/70-14 would've fit my car w/o rolling the fender lips.

correct, the 195/70-14's I used were blackwalls. The Traction T/A's are not available in RWL in any size. I prefer it that way; IMHO, the blackwall look means business.

I assume you mean Blue Streaks. The Speedways are for 1967 Shelby's. The best of luck with your search. Bob

Yes, that's the one's Lester Tire makes them for $360 each, that's a lot of money for a 6:95-14 tire in bias ply

It is all relative. Compared to some better driving radials the repros seem expensive but the repro bluestreaks are a God send to those restoring a Shelby back to original. The $360 for a repro compared to going rate of the original tire(if you can even find some) is about 6 time LESS then the last NOS 6.95 14 bluestreak that I know of that sold. That was each and it was part of a set of 5. The repros look correct but for a car that is going to be driven it is no contest. A good radial makes all the difference in comfort and driving response .Bob

    still unsure what size tires you have ? 185/??-14 ? 185/60 or 185/70 ? or what ...

195/70-14 looked & fit good on my '66. A 185 width would need a 75 aspect ratio ( 185/75-14 ) to be "right" looking imho.

I think 185's are the smallest tires I've seen on a Shelby! IMHO, if you wanted the stock look, I would have gone with the 205/70-14's. I run them on a 66 convert with original styled steel wheels with no problem, even at the leading edge of the front fenders, typically the problem area. Also, sizes do vary a bit among different brands. Most local tire shops will work with you to mount and check the clearances before buying. I'd be tempted to wait until you get it all back together and your springs settle (maybe you installed new springs/leafs too, from looking at your pics).

A stock look would have been 185/75-14 , which is the closest you can get to the 6.95-14 that came on the '66 GT-350 when new.
