RODEO DRIVE CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE June 21st This is an annual event. I can't take it seriously as a concours with exacting judges like at Pebble but it's a great celebration of over-the-top wall-to-wall glitz. The marques on display vary and I can't promise there will be many Cobras but at least two to combat the dozens of Ferraris. And lots of celebs or near celebs plus lots of pretty ladies who seem to be drawn to the glitz like flies to honey. The whole event exists more or less to promote the stores on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills' most expensive shopping area. It’s Sunday, June 21 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm in Beverly Hills. That's the official time but I suggest going as early as 7 a.m. to see the cars running as they jockey for a prime display space. Later on as many as 30,000+ people will be walking the sidewalks of Rodeo Drive to, to quote their PR release “celebrate the automobile equivalent of Rodeo style.” The best part of the event is that it’s free and even the parking is free on nearby streets. Location is on the 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Rodeo Drive which meets Wilshire Blvd, the main street of Los Angeles.
