Just found the forum. Thanks for letting me jump in. I'll be reading the archived msgs for awhile. I had an '07 Shelby GT follow me home last month. Manual, black/silver with black interior. Not my first Mustang - we had a '65 coupe when I was in highschool, I bought a new '75 Mustang II Mach I, there's a '70 fastback project car sitting in the pasture and I messed around with a freebee '82 coupe. None of those came close to the quality ride of the '07. I just sit back and grin as it rumbles along. I've been online as mtflat for 10 years so I kept the same handle - my other passion involves Ford flathead V8's and a '48 F1 is my daily driver. I look forward to your input and advice when questions come up. Tim
Hey Tim do you know about the International Mustang Meet in Billings on the sept.long weekend I hope to be making the trip down from Canada they are always a good time.Hopefully a few hundred cars!
tesgt350, I only have the '07 Shelby GT and it looks like all the rest, and the '70 sportsroof belongs to my son and is in pieces waiting rebuilding. Not much to take pictures of. The rest are long gone. The '65 disappeared by the late 60's. Dad never kept things very long. We took the '82 and yanked the 2.3/5 spd and swapped in a warm 302/T5. Shot it with gray primer with decent wheels, it was a fun to drive sleeper. Gave it to my son-in-law who sold it recently. The '75 Mach I only lasted a year and a half. I started to pass a truck one evening and when I was alongside his rear wheel he pulled out to pass a car in front of him. I took the ditch and rolled it and that was the end. Kids came along and so did family transportation. Now they're out and on their own so it's fun time again! Magstar, I hadn't heard about the Billings gathering. Thanks for the tip - I'll look into it. It's tough for me to get away weekends, but Billings is close enough for a day trip.
Hello MTflat, If you do come to Billings for the internation show I would recomend Sat as that is the show and shine and the fairgrounds--last year they had over 100 cars. Lot of special interest Fords, Friday nite is burn the point cruise through down town Billings--they have had to tone that down alot--used to see a lot of tire smoke--but it is patrolled very heavly by the local cops!! I am in the middle of a restore on a 66 GT350H, hope to have it ready for next years burn the point.
