  2. Just a guess, but I sometimes bid just 1 or 2 cents above the price I want to spend, just to scare off bidders. For example, if I bid $2200.03 and they bid up to $2200.00, it can scare them off as they don't know how high my bid is. I would also suspect that perhaps E-Bay misread the $2200.03 bid as an even $2200.00 and the angry bidder let them know about their mistake. That's a guess, but that's one way it could happen.

    I'm REALLY curious about how ebay selected the winning bid on this one. The "three cents higher" ($2200.03) bid appears to have been submitted almost 2 1/2 hrs AFTER the $2200 "even" bid, so how'd a bid only three cents higher "trump" the earlier bid???
