I've got a 2008 GT500 with factory HID head lamps, but the factory fog lamps are amber (non HID). They just don't look great mixed like that, and I drive during the day usually with my fogs on, they need to be HID (car is black no stripes.) The HID fogs would look mean, yeah and better lighting.

Every discussion I've read through so far left off around a year ago, any solid (no drilling) kits out there that anyone has installed or had a shop install? I'll assume there will need to be a relay switch, and I'm looking for a "plug-and-play" setup. I want the white bright lights to match the factory HID's, not interested in any blue...

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Most states do not allow HID for public raod use as it is distracting, if not blinding, to on coming traffic. The fines can be pricy. Many mfg. state "for off road use only" or something like that. Okay to use in your own driveway, however.

I have heard that Silverstar ultra fog light bulbs closely resemble the color light of the factory HID's but, I have never actually seen them in person.

    ---

HID lights are coming standard for most cars now, I have factory HID headlights that came with the Cobra and they aren't blinding to oncoming traffic or vehicles in front of the car. I'll have to do some research and find out about 'DOT' approved aftermarket for the fog lamp conversion. I do think they need to be positioned properly, you can blind people with incorrectly positioned lights no matter what intensity.

Thanks for the comment, it's worth finding out about, the last thing I need is more attention from cops in this thing.

Joe if that is your car in the picture the round fog lamps do not look amber to me. Are you sure you are not looking at the turn signals which are amber.?

The fog lamp 'light' is not HID, the lense is clear.

I found two kits, trying to decide which one to get.

ok the lens is clear but the bulb is amber. My 09 has clear lens and clear bulbs which are really bright in daylight. Maybe you could just get some 09 fog lamp bulbs.;)

OK, good suggestion... I'll check into it. I haven't had time to install the HID kit yet that I got. Can you send a pic of you're 09' Cobra with both sets of lights on?

I would but I do not have a digital camera. Guess I will have to go find somebody that has one . Do you mean both the headlights and the fog lights?:evo:

I'd like to see the headlights and fog lights all turned on, if it's something you could do.
