I am new to the forum. Purchased a "new" 08 Shelby GT 500 this spring. Approcahing first oil change and my Ford dealer said he does not have 5w-50 full synthetic oil per car specs. I figured they would have what I need. Any recomendations as to what is the "correct" oil to be using?
Welcome to the site. I prefer to use Trop-Artic's Racing Synthetic oil. But everyone has their own preference. robin
There are three that make the 5w 50 full synthetic that make a statement in writing that they meet the B spec for the gt500. Ford motorcraft, Castrol and Valvoline. Mobil1 makes the 5w 50 full synthetic mainly for european use but they do not make the statement in writing about meeting the spec B. FYI Ford motorcraft is made and bottled by Conoco.
