Craig: It will most likely be the same as last time, where the infield track will be used in conjunction with the banked turns. Kenny
As the website says: The track's road course, a combination of the 2- mile oval and an infield road course with 21 turns for a total of 2.8 miles. There will be four 20-minute practice sessions each on Friday and two 15-minute qualifying sessions on Saturday. On Sunday each class will have a warm-up and a 10-lap race. QUESTION: IS there a sound requirement for Fantana? As it's a super speedway, I'd think not, but would hate to show up with the wrong exhaust... all the best, Dan Belick PS Who's going? ----- Original Message ----- From: Shelby6t7@aol.com To: Craig245@cox.net ; ShelbyMustang@carmemories.com Sent: Saturday, June 25, 2005 12:00 PM Subject: Re: SAAC in fontana Craig: It will most likely be the same as last time, where the infield track will be used in conjunction with the banked turns. I will be there helping a friend of mine with his 66 Shelby Trans Am car. I will also be bringing my 66 Hertz (White/Gold) to drive around in. There is no sound limit at Fontana, so uncork 'em! I'm trying to chose which rear end ratio to use. In 2002, SAAC put a chicane at the end of the front straight. It was a fast one, about 90 MPH, but I had to slow from about 130 to go through it and then got back of to about 140 before braking for the infield left turn. That was with 3:89 gears. If there is no chicane then 3:70's will be required as I keep my foot in it around the bank. Speeds would be about 160 for the GT-350 race, 170 for the Trans-Am, and approaching 200 for the GT-40's.
