Does anybody have ever had experiences good or bad with glass polishing ?? I need to restore my original dated door windows , vent and backglass . These are scratched . I ve heard that glass polishing is very tricky and reserved to pro`s . Please share your thoughts !! Any tips would be great to help me save my original parts . Thanks .
Suggest you send them out for the job Check with West Coast Cougar in Salem Or - believe they purchased a machine to do such task. Not sure they do them for others but worth checking out
Eastwood sells a glass polisher head and compound. Okay for very light haze but won't get at any thing that you can feel with your finger nail. The other problem is distortion from working one area way too long. The other option is new glass and having all your info. etched in.
I used the Eastwood product. Took out the haze but that was all. Left some polishing marks behind also. Don't bother with it. I wish now that I had bought new glass.
Also to remember: using the eastwood kit also puts a lot of heat onto glass and there is a more than a slight risk of the glass cracking or shattering. Z. Ray
