2010 gt500 suspension

    Hi, I was wondering that since the new GT500 had live rear suspension, is it possible to modify it to an independant rear suspension? I definitely think its worth the extra money and I think ford should have done that in the first place. Anyway, I just wanted to know if it is possible and if so, what would be the approximate cost, and such. And another thing, does the 2010 roush mustang have independant rear suspension? If so would it be possible to get their suspension on a 2010 shelby, forming a cool hybrid? Thanks guys. :guns:

    From all the magazine reports and testing that I have seen, IRS does not appear to be of any advatage with the GT500 or any Mustang. The weight and suspension design of the IRS versus better suspension mods appear to favor the latter. I would look at what is done with the Ford Racing Champion series cars.B)

    100X, Anything is possible. If you were to do it though, It would
    1. Cost a $h1t LOAD of money to do (custom fabrication all the way)
    2. Probably hurt performance due to extra weight and not being designed to hold an IRS.
    The S197 platform is a solid axle design. No aftermarket tuner make an IRS for it.
