I have a 1968 Mustang that was "Shelbyized" in the early 70s and stored away ever since. The frt end was damaged and my dad bought new Ford/Shelby fiberglass for it around 1976 from the dealer he worked at. He gave it to me and I never did anything with it. Now that my kids are grown I was thinking of restoring the Mustang....but maybe selling the Shelby stuff to fund the restoration. It just seems like a waste to have original Shelby parts on a J code Mustang. Here's the parts I am wondering about the values on (btw...I'm not nieve ) Nos frt lower valance (lightly primed) Nos frt headlamp buckets (lightly primed) Nos upper grill panel (lightly primed) Original hood (has damage that has been repaired) Original upper scoops Original deck lid 1 original end cap 2 aftermarket end caps Nos taillamp panel Nos taillamp bezels and lenses Original T Bird taillamp buckets Original pop open gas cap Original roll bar Nos rear valance A few pics..... Excuse the crappy garage.....foundation cracked. I had to move quick!
Wish you would have sold this two years ago cars done now lol.Had to settle for a re-pop upper grill panel and gas cap.Of Course they didn't fit right.I would be interested in those. And give you a fair price. Sure others will chime with values.Saltman
There is NO better looking car than a 68 Shelby in my book, and I really planned on just fixing this car up as it is....but I've seen a few NOS Shelby pieces go through the roof lately in auction and that made me start thinking. I am torn on wheather to keep the stuff on the car, sell the stuff and get repro parts or sell it and go Steve McQueen! Eh time will tell....I have a couple projects ahead of this one anyway.
Stick them on Ebay . The market will decide the value. I would be surprised if they didn't receive a lot of interest IMHO. Bob
It is all as stated in the above post. The aftermarket parts are noted as such. I still haven't got a feel for the market of this stuff.
Got it, I'm just saying I would only be interested in The genuine Ford stuff. If you want to give me a price or have me make you an offer contact me. I'm not naive either B)
I just remembered....the decklid is off of a 67 Shelby. I didn't know the difference but I was advised years ago that if the inside of it is fiberglass mat...it is a 67. If it is smooth....it's a 68. And I'm assuming that information is correct.
