Hello everyone. I just found this forum and had to sign up as a new Shelby owner and the previous owner of a 1966 GT 350 and a 1968 GT 350. I've owned over a dozen Mustangs in the past, and currently own my original 1983 Mustang GT convertible that I purchased new, and recently purchased a 2008 Shelby GT convertible that is currently at Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas being converted to a GT/SC. I live in Flower Mound, Texas, near Dallas/Ft. Worth, so if anyone is close, feel free to send me a message. I also enjoy the motorcycles and currently own a couple Harleys. John springerjfp@aol.com
Hi, I've been trying to post some pics, but they aren't taking. Is it a few days, or a predetermined number of posts before you may add photos to a response? Thanks.
HAPPY TURKEY DAY JOHN from Ron in Lone Oak, Texas. I used to live in Flower Mound. I left in 1995 for East Texas. Welcome and I think you do have to post a few before pics.
Thanks Ron. We had a beautiful day here for Thanksgiving, hope yours was just as nice in Lone Oak. I moved here the same year you left!
Re: Hello from Texas - Car Pics Here are a few pics of my cars. I purchased the 1983 GT new, and the other is my 2008 Shelby GT, which is in the process of being converted to a GT/SC.
Is your 83 an early 4 speed version or the late year 5 speed version? Oh yeah, I guess it could be an automatic with throttle body injection also.
It is a late one, I purchased it in September 1983. I don't believe any of the GT convertibles were a 4 speed because the GT convertible was introduced late in the 1983 production. Mine is a 5 speed with the cloth interior, which was a very late option for the convertibles also. It also has the dealer installed from air dam and luggage rack.
