I purchased my Shelby Gt. 500 about 9 months ago and i have
been finding out what they mean when they say wheel hop.
You would think either Ford or Shelby would have addressed
this serious problem before they sell this car. I am extreamly
disapointed that i have to shellout money to correct a problem
that should have been eliminated by the manufacturers.

    Sincerely
    Clarence

You might want to check at the www.teamshelby.com forum site to see how this has been dealt with. There has been a lot of discussion on this but I do recall a TSB being issued. Someone may know.

The reason Ford did not go to a solid polyurethane bushing to eliminate wheel hop like after market control arms do is interior noise. Since many of these cars are just cruised or driven on the streets the trade off between performance and comfort was not important enough. Most who want to take their car to the drags just get some good aftermarket control arms. I changed all 3 to metco aluminum ones. They work great but do transmit more road and rear axle noise into the cabin of the car.

Yes LCA's do wonders for minimizing wheel hop. Steeda billets would be my choice but any aftermarket is better than stock.
