Hello from Germany! Hello, I'm new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself...I'm a civilian contractor stationed in Germany, working with the US Armed Forces. Won a lottery slot with OMSC/ENCS-AAFES New Car Sales in July09 to order a 2010 Shelby GT500 Coupe....took delivery on 10 NOV 2009....and am now a very proud, extremely happy owner of my first "special and exclusive" 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Coupe. Look forward to learning alot from all the experienced Shelby Owners on this forum while settling in to my new Shelby Mustang! Great site, and very glad to have joined!!! Mike
Re: Hello from Germany! First time on a "forum", working my way around, getting "set-up", etc. Just updated my signature with photo (just love that new back side and sequential lighting). Took delivery via Baltimore, Military Prep Center through Bremerhaven, Germany on a very wet, windy, grey overcast day, 10NOV09; however, loads of onlookers were watching in the rain while this special vehicle was offloaded from the truck at my final delivery destination (Wiesbaden, Germany). Folks are just amazed about this car!!! I special ordered the vehicle with AAFES New Car Sales from Germany in Sterling Grey Clearcoat Metallic, Black Stripes, Black Striped Seating, HID Lights, & Car Cover. The Full NAV System & Electronics package does not fully function in Europe, causes problems, therefore not ordered. Didn't get the Shaker 1000, the 500 is fine. The car and engine is the real music, so extra options are/were not required! Very happy new '10 Shelby GT500 owner!!! Vehicle now has 363 miles on it and can hardly wait to fulfill the drive-in period, rather when the alternate PCM factory calibration is over with....!!! Unfortunately, the winter weather is slowly but surely setting in here in Germany, so very limited driving if at all at the moment. The Shelby is garaged/stored for the winter season, and will only be taken out when the weather is dry and above 7 degrees celcius/40 degrees Fahrenheit. Really love this Mustang, the new 2010 redesign is great, interior is much improved, and absolutely thrilled with the sound...!!!!
I am also stationed in Germany with the USAF. I, too, won the opportunity to purchase a 2010 Shelby GT500 last year; however, wasn't able to follow through with it. BUT, the story doesn't end there. I recently was selected for promotion and purchased a 2010 from the States. Of course, shipping was a small issue, but the car will be in Germany around the second week of June. I got the Kona Blue with Silver Stripes. It came with the HID headlights and the Nav system (won't work in Germany). At least I'll get to find out about the 155mph governor on the Autobahn. Can't wait for my beauty to show up! I also own a '69 Fastback, but it currently resides in a garage with my father while I serve overseas. Great forum and thanks. -Sal
