Grille support does not line up

Hello,

First post here. I have a 65 that is starting to become a clone.

I recently purchased the upper grille support from Branda and it does not seem to fit correctly. If I mount it as is, the front edge will be approximately 1.5" above the upper edge of the grille. I would have to bend the metal below the rad back at an angle to make the support line up with the grille.

The grille support is boxed on three sides and the angle as is is slightly more than 90 degrees. The result of the obtuse angle is that the support angles up instead of down.

Anyone else experience this problem?

The part I'm describing is shown in the following picture that I found in the gallery.
