I'm experiencing long cranking times when trying to start the car after sitting overnight. My Ford dealer says they can't pull any codes to diagnose the problem. Is there an access code to allow them to pull the fault code(s)?
Ford did have an issue with some injectors that would hang open and cause starting problems but, I thought they were only in F150's and Expeditions.
The dealer states that the diagnosis can't be performed because the tuning done at the Shelby facility has their computers locked out.
There is no tuning at Shelby for SGT's. These young guys at Ford dealers can't repair a car without an engine code!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow
My Shelby window sticker states "Pro-Cal Performance Calibration (Installed)". Isn't that the tuning that the Ford dealer is describing?
The Shelby GT's did come with a custom Tune. There was a topic on here about how the owners were up set because they do not get the Hand Held Tuner with the Car because SAI buys a huge number of Tunes for the Shelby GT's but only has a couple of the Hand held Tuners to install the Tunes. The Dealerships can re-install the Tune if the Computer blanks out, (that has happened before).
I stand corrected. The way I understood it when talking with them when I was at SAI was that there wasn't any special tune in the SGT. The Shelby GT/SC is another story, which receives a complete reprogramming from FRPP.
