4 Lug. 1964 1/2 to 1969 Mustangs came with 4 Lugs BUT, I know that in 1966 you could order a 6 Cyl with 5 Lug as a special Option. My friend has one, a 1966 Convertible with a 200 6 Cyl and the Bread Box Manual Transmission.
Huh???? Respectfully - just because your friend has one ....... Anyone ever see any factory documentation mentioning this? I know I haven't -but the thought is interesting - though strange
There is very little documentation for any pre-67 Mustangs. The owner would have to still have original paper work to prove that one.
YES, I have seen the Paper Work. The Order Form and the Window Sticker. I thought the same way you did until he showed me the Paper Work. I used to own a 1970 Grade that had a Factory suported Dealer Installed Rumble Seat.........YES, Rumble Seat. The Car came with the Papers as well as a Info Card printed by Ford Motor Company on the Rumble Seat Option. It was very cool.
I have seen a 69 vert with rumble seat before. I think they made a couple for a Spring promotion, Blossom package or something. If I remember right I think the car was pink.
Would rather see a dealers/salemans handbook or a order card with the option shown - don't believe either shows this as an option. Remember (not saying this is the case here) there are plenty of faked order forms, buildsheets and window stickers out there. Fake Marti reports are floating around also. It was and accessory, like many others, that dealers would put on cars or you could order and put it on yourself. Not at all popular so its very rare to see one. Have a copy of the aftermarket ad for those things but can't find it this moment Here is a pic of a 69 Conv that someone put a kit on
