Going thru my parts today. I was getting ready to bead blast coil and bracket and noticed this marking. Has this ever been seen on any other 67 gt350s? This appears to me to be a white stripe. The coil bracket itself is black also.

IF you meant to post a picture - didn't come through

There would have normally been a ink stamp on the side of the housing and on some other applications there has been a white number or marking on the bottom or side of the case that I've seen

I wonder if Chris may be mistaking the remnants of the engine ID sticker running longways down the coil for a white stripe. I have seen some where the adhesive sticker remains looks like a stripe. Just a guess. Bob

No I've never seen that on an original early Mustang or Shelby. May have seen a similar one on a large Ford product once at a yard

I'm with Bob on the marks appear to be left over sticker goo from a long gone timing sticker that ran up and down the coil.

And since you mentioned that you were going to "Blast" the bracket and coil, here are a couple of things to reseach before you do:
1)Do Not blast the yellow top of the coil. Some media might leave a trail for the spark to just go to ground, plus, the yellow may then look grainey
2)Wipe the coil with cleaner to see if the coil markings will appear. There is a date code imprint on the lable, which is stamped. Perhaps somebody can list the contact number for a place that can re-stamp this coil with the right date and type of lettereds, etc.

I have a very high confidence level that is adhesive residue left from the engine ID sticker. ECS sells them . Bob

It is about the width of that engine code label. I am going to take the bracket off and see if the coil stamp and date is underneath where the strap was.

Should be easy for him to tell the difference between it being paint or left over adhesive.

The location of the bracket/strap is a bit high for the ink stamp but let us know what you find
