I have a set of NOS blue Shelby GT 350 stripes (part# S1MS-16224-B) and was wondering what they are worth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

65 Shelby GT350 only used the GT350 decal . The side stripes were painted on.

The letters and numbers are also different from the Kit compared to original 65. The kit was used for the 66-68 with positioning differences between letters and numbers from one year to the next. With the new and improved repros recently released by Branda which are not just close but exact copies the value is what ever you can get out of the original . There is a certain nostalgia value but it doesn't count for much with these IMHO. If you have ever tried to apply a old stripe kit they are difficult because they start to get brittle and the adhesive loses it's grip. My advise would not to miss any sale. Any money will be found money as far as these are concerned IMHO.Bob

yep,..I wouldn't install it, not with the new ones out now. I also wouldn't sell it, its cool, just hold on to it, great conversation piece.

I thought the 1965 Shelby's had "Painted On" Lower Side Stripes with Vinyl G.T. 350 Decals that did not quit match the Stripe Color.

You thought correctly in thinking the color of the vinyl GT350 didn't quite match the painted on stripes but to me more noticeably was that the 65 GT350 font style was noticeably different when compared to the later GT350 phont style used in 66 ,67,and 68 that came in the boxed stripe kits.

In 1970 I had my original 65 repainted. Before it went off to the paint shop I traced the fenders on both sides to show the type font, sizes and location of the stripes for reference. I still have the original tracing. It always bothered me the stripes were Guardsman blue and the letters were ??? blue. How many folks do you know that matched the side stripe color to the GT 350 decals?

I knew of quite a few 30 or 35 years ago . It is not considered proper or concours correct to match them now.

    Hello there,
Yes the original part number did carry a 1965 Shelby number but it was for 1966-1968 GT-350 cars. The 1965's were painted on except for the numbers & letters. If the stripe is in good condition and in it's original package it should be worth $75-$100. The only problems really are that there was a shelf life unless perfectly stored and the repros are pretty nice. I hope this helps! Dave
