I've seen them painted and plain aluminum. Which is correct?

painted with the motor is correct. They were painted by Ford and running engines when they went to Smith for conversion.

Now what about pulleys and accessories? PS pump, alt, pulleys...black or blue?

Pulleys are semigloss black, except the alternator pulley which is plated gold cad. The PS pump is usually a teal color. The mounting brackets are semi-gloss black. Some say the ps mounting bracket is phosphated. The alternator is natural aluminum as is the ps bracket around the pump.

The best to research these types of details is a national shows. You can usually find helpful people there and the occasional unrestored survivor.
A little research can go a long way. I would suggest also looking at 428 CJs as the assembly techniques are similar.

You know what they say about a picture......just don't copy the carb unless you've got one of the 50 or so Autolite 4100 cars

I am sure its just a coincidence the dump truck has GT stripes?

Let's see SAAC D2 Champion, that would make this in the top 1% of the cars in the country....not too shabby
