Expect to pickup my 2010 Sterling Grey GT500 by next week. It arrived on January 4, but it's been in the shop being modified. New SC kit, exhaust, and other. Will get new wheels and tires after break-in period. Background: Why am I doing the mods? I'm a former high performance Corvette owner. But a stock GT500 would probably not been able to beat my old Corvette; in fact, I'm as positive as one can get without being able to race side-by-side. And guess what, the vette was a new 1966 427. Somewhere around 600HP at the flywheel and only 3200 lbs. The only modifications were to the carburetor and a second fuel pump at the tank. So naturally I don't want to lose to a Corvette; at least not a stock one. Hoping to put close to 700HP to the rear wheels to compensate for the 3900 lbs. I know it could still come up short, but this is a good starting point. Plan to test the machine this spring and summer.
Welcome to the site. It would be a neat comparison to have a modern versus vintage muscle car race. robin
