I have a 2007 SGT and want to get some more power out of it. I'm looking at different Supercharger options and have narrowed it down to either a Whipple or the newish Edelbrock E-Force. Has anyone done a supercharger mod that maintains the tower brace? Most of the SC units seem to compromise the strut brace. Are the Whipples to tall? Is the Edelbrock lower? I expect to use the car for a daily seasonal driver and want to avoid problems. I'm not a mechanic but think I can handle a tuned SC specific to my ride, am I crazy?
Re: Supercharger question I have the Whipple on my Shelby GT/SC. The FRPP strut tower brace will not fit with the Whipple. The brace provides very minimal support and basically shifts the weight to the other strut tower when cornering hard on the track. A proper strut tower brace, to function as its intended to do, should be tied in to the firewall also, which is not the case on the Shelby GT's. I have noticed no difference in handling with my GT/SC after the strut tower was removed. It handles like a "champ."

I'd like to keep the strut brace even if it doesnt do much, the less I compromise the car the better; I will likely have to get rid of it regardless. Does anyone else have an idea that includes an SC with some kind of tower brace?
The Paxton and other centrifugal superchargers are an option I have considered. How well do centrifugals work on road courses? I'm hoping attend a few solo's and trackardia events, I've heard they are good at the strip, but how about road courses?
The supercharger won't know the difference between a straight line or a winding road. The car will obviously be heavier up front due to the added weight of the SC unit which could affect handling. The Paxton/Vortech SC's or centrifugal pushes that added weight further out in front of the front axle centerline and could actually act as if there were added weight beyond that of the SC unit. The FRPP/Whipple and Edelbrock units would keep the weight more centered over the front wheels. While this is a minor concern to most folks driving their cars mostly on the street, it could be a factor to consider in racing venues where weight transfer is more critical. I've seen a Mustang GT with the E-Force blower and a strut brace, so it should fit under the brace on your SGT. E-mail Edelbrock to be sure though. One more thing, most of these SC's use a cooler of some sort that is mounted forward of the radiator in the lower fascia opening, just a little more added weight.
