I'm hunting some reproduction valve cover bolts for the 66 GT350. Problem is that I need them to be 1" long to account for the thicker valve cover gasket used to gain rocker arm clearance. Are there any good sources for reproduction style bolts in non-OEM lengths?

    Thanks Shelbyforums!

Just go through the "bulk" list on AMK's site, I'm sure you'll find something satisfactory.

AMK's site? Do you have a link?

    Thanks so much.

    http://www.amkproducts.com/

Most Mustang suppliers, such as Glazier Nolan, my favorite, stock items from AMK. I mention GN because they have about a 2 day turnaround on special orders from AMK.

Jeff, what thicker gaskets are you using? Are you also using spacers?

I'm using the FelPro double gaskets with a steel support sandwiched between the gasket material (cork) and am able to use the original valve cover bolts, no spacers.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Sounds like we're using the same gaskets..about .320" thick but I don't recall the part number right off the top of my head. The bolts that were on the car are about 3/4" underhead length. This only gives about 3 threads of engagement with the valve cover flange, gasket and washer. Not enough for my liking, plus the bolts are just hardware store grade 3 pieces. I'd like to find a stock looking bolt.
