Hey all - Just bought an 09 and noticed that after a bit of cruising the hump between the back seats (not floorboard - seats) gets pretty hot. I have searched and googled and cannot seem to find any info on it - probably operator error but I did try!! Anyone else have this or know what the deal is?? Thanks!
I wish it were what you were thinking... We had taken the car to my son's baseball practice - he noticed it riding in the back seat. So no one but me has noticed this - or is it only mine doing it cause something is wrong? Bummer.
If it had been that,,,then you would not be asking questions. Take it to your dealer and ask them to put it up on a rack for inspection. The car has a two piece driveshaft and I do not know where that middle bearing is located but that is what I would be looking at first. Let us know what you find pls.
So I think I figured it out. I will probably have to change my handle on here to D2D.. So my lovely wife and I drove it to a wedding the other night in Dallas. After driving home the long way around, I pulled into the garage and grabbed by laser thrmometer gun to get an infrared temp reading on the seats - cool as a cucumber - no hot spot like before!! So I am like - what is up? What was different between now (no hot spot) and then (hot spot)? Kids in the back seat was all I could think about. Top was down both times... and then it hit me. It was DAYTIME the other day. NIGHTTIME this time. Daytime and SUNNY vs NIGHTTIME and NO SUN. The spot between the seats had no shade - (kids shaded the seats) Hot Spot created by sun... Your truely, D2D
Yes and black soaks up heat. Sure glad to hear all that. Did not know you had a vert when we talked at first but without being there prolly would not have thought of that at the time.
Yeah - my son didn't mention the hot spot until we had pulled into the garage so the sunlight just never crossed my mind..
