Anyone here know who makes a replacement upper bushing for the front shocks ? I luckily still have the original Gabriel ones on my 67 GT-500 but the eye bushings are no more usable . Also need to know if rubber ones are more recommended than the poly ones ?? Can i perform this job by myself or need special tools ?? Thanks !!!

There was a place near downtown Chicago that did mine. This was 15 years ago. It is possible. I did not watch them do this. I just dropped them off and picked them up a week later.
The phone number is on a cabinet at home. If I remember, I'll post it tomorrow. Perhaps there is a place that does this and they advertise in Hemmings Motor News.

Turns out, they moved to Colorado, off I-70 between Vail and Denver at the Silvertorne exit. Same phone number; 1-800-344-1966.
They are A-1 Shock Absorber Co, AKA "shockfinders"

Givem' a call and ask them about the upper bushing repair.

FYI I called and the short answer is they will do the repair but are reluctant and vague to sell just the parts (1 bushing for each shock) to do it yourself. It is difficult to do but I learned to do it because I am paranoid about sending rare Shelby shocks. Bob

I am sure there are different varieties . The edges are rounded. I don't have a picture. Bob
