The previous owner add a MSD ignition system and when I bought the car the tach did not work. I called MSD and was told that I need a tach adapter which I installed and the tach works but no matter how high the engine rev's once the tach hits 4,200 rpm it stops. Below 4,200 rpm it appears to be correct. The tach is an original 3 wire Shelby tach.

    Any ideas?

In all likelihood the tach has a problem and needs to be rebuilt. Tachman can do it.

I was thinking the same thing, is Tachman located around Dallas Texas?
