That's what I thought. Here's a better look at the markings. Note the date code.

Just got back from the builder after a successful day on the dyno. The raw numbers are 521.1 lb-ft @ 4300 and 473.5 hp @5300. Horsepower would likely be more with bigger diameter primary header tubes but that would have taken away from the torque. We made five power runs at different timing settings and settled on 37° initial timing. I'll have some torque and horsepower curves up as soon as I plot them.

    BIG BANG UPDATE

The engine and transmission are now in the car.

I've put a TKO600 with .64 overdrive behind the 427. It all fits without anything hitting.

Still a lot of clean up and touch up is required, but at this point I just want it running. Maybe today.

Many thanks to the crew at Perogie Enterprises, especially George and John.. Without them, I wouldn't have been able to come this far due to lack of resources and helping hands.

The goal is to have the car at the Carlisle All Ford Nationals. It looks like that just may happen. Stay tuned.

I'm planning on being there Friday and Saturday. I'll probably hook up with my friend Chris ('70 Mach 1 428CJ, factory special order brown paint) for a bit and hank out with the Perogie crew but am otherwise free. As for the best place to meet, maybe just on the fair grounds. I'm open to ideas however.
